The word 'homestay' can mean so many different things. It depends on what the host family is offering and what the homestay guest requires. Host families often offer a homely environment to their homestay guests (usually students wishing to study abroad). Accommodation is offered with or without meals. Some host families offer extra services such as language tuition and cultural excursions as part of the hometay package. Whatever the services offered, every homestay should include clean and comfortable accommodation, friendly and welcomming host families who are interested in sharing their culture with you and who also have an interest in sharing your culture!
